Welcome to Guerrilla Gigs Episode 6. In this episode I traveled to Government Buildings in Dublin to protest against the long list of abuses and injustices that are being visited upon the Irish people through the inaction, corruption and greed of the unfit for purpose government.

Ireland, right now, is a country in crisis. We currently have in excess of 10,000 people homeless, with thousands more at risk of meeting the same fate at the hands of greedy landlords, banks and vulture funds.

We have over 700,000 people on hospital waiting lists, many of whom have been waiting long periods of time for urgent treatments and up and down the country we have people lying in hospital corridors on trolleys every single day.

We now live in a country were children and adults alike are denied access to adequate mental health services. We have a cervical check scandal that has already cost several women their lives and is still being completely mismanaged, causing huge risk to the lives of many others.

We are a tax haven for some of the worlds richest corporations and have gifted away billions in tax revenue and natural resources to multinationals, all at the expense of Irish citizens, who have and are still suffering greatly at the hands of inflicted austerity.

We pay millions annually to private companies like Turas Nua and Seetec to bully people into meaningless, short term job schemes and programs with the sole aim of keeping unemployment figures artificially down.

In 2018, we still deny seriously ill people access to an effective and often life changing medicine on the basis of outdated stigmas and despite the fact that it is made from a safe plant that has been cultivated and used medicinally for thousands of years.

And the sad reality is, all the things I have mentioned above are really just the tip of the iceberg, I could go on and on. We have corruption running through every vein of the system and in many cases those whose job it is to protect and serve us are the very ones who are causing the most damage to our society, the government, the judiciary, the Gardai, the mainstream media and TUSLA being perhaps among the most worrying, they are all corrupt to their very core.

Of course, our apathetic governments main goal, above all else, is to maintain the status quo and continue to protect the interests of the banks, the vulture funds, the ruling class and the other private business interests of the state and they are more than happy to inflict hardship after hardship on the people of Ireland in order to do so. They would much rather continue to give themselves pay rises and pledge billions annually to an EU army than to build houses, hospitals and safe schools for our children.

The entire system is skewed. It is deliberately designed to favor the few and leave the many to struggle and suffer. We need to tear it all down and start again. We need to take our country back.

Welcome to the fifth installment of Guerrilla Gigs. In this episode I travelled to The Papal Cross in Dublin's Phoenix Park to protest against the upcoming visit of Pope Francis to Ireland on the grounds that it is a horrible insult to all those who have been murdered, raped, abused and mistreated at the hands of the Catholic Church in this country over the last number of centuries, but in particular, those who are still fighting for justice and closure today.

The Catholic Church has overseen some of the worst horrors known to man, both here in Ireland and around the globe. From the Mother & Baby Homes and Magdalene Laundries to the Industrial Schools and Christian Brothers. From the rampant child sex abuse and human trafficking to all the subsequent denials and cover ups of everything mentioned above and lots more.

They hypocritically preach compassion and charity as millions of their followers die of hunger, disease and poverty, while they hoard enough riches to end all this suffering many times over. They falsely preach love and kindness while subjecting millions to horrific hardships. They have, without doubt, caused more death, pain and suffering around the world than all of the worst regimes and dictatorships in history, yet they are still welcome here in Ireland and elsewhere?

We should in no way be celebrating the head of this horrible, disgusting, corrupt organization. In fact, until the church bothers to acknowledge it's victims in a meaningful way, apologizes for it?s wrongs in a meaningful way, pays adequate compensation and allows proper investigations and burials to happen in places like Tuam and the many other unmarked mass grave sites dotted around the World, then quiet frankly they shouldn't even be allowed to exist, let alone be celebrated.

They should also have no part in the running of our state, be it our hospitals, our schools or any other groups or organizations. We need to stop forgetting and whitewashing the deeds carried out by this despicable organization. They have been and continue to be, one of the biggest cancers our country has ever known. We need to stand against them now for all those above-mentioned victims. It is they who we should be celebrating and honoring. They are the real heroes, not the holy father of hypocrisy.

This song is a reminder of just one of the countless horrors carried out by the church. It is a cover of a Christy Moore adaptation of a Joni Mitchell song. This song is called The Magdalene Laundries...

Welcome to the fourth installment of Guerrilla Gigs. In this episode I traveled to the Israeli Embassy in Dublin to perform a short spoken word piece, dedicated to and in solidarity with the Palestinian people, in their fight against oppression.

May they one day be granted peace and the right to return to their homeland.

    This piece is called Palestine?

Welcome to the third installment of Guerrilla Gigs. In this episode, I travelled to Shannon Airport in Co. Clare to protest against The US military?s ongoing use of the airport as a military base in their illegal wars around the globe. Since 2002, almost 3 million American troops have passed through this airport on their way to carry out unspeakable atrocities worldwide, killing and displacing millions of innocent women, children and men in the process.

This not only makes Ireland fully complicit in these war crimes but also makes us far from a neutral country in the eyes of the people whose lives are being ripped apart by these conflicts, and whose families these planes are on their way to murder daily.

It's absolutely shameful and our involvement needs to stop now. I also made this episode in protest of the Irish governments recent decision to sign Ireland up to the new EU army, or simply the PESCO agreement as it is currently being masqueraded. A very dangerous move, made with little public debate, that will only further destroy what's left of our already questionable neutrality and pave the way for Ireland to increase its spending and involvement in future illegal conflicts, invasions and occupations around the world and so that, in time, our children too can be flown off to kill the children of others. Is this the future we really want?

Welcome to the second installment of Guerrilla Gigs. In this episode I traveled to Apple's European headquarters on the outskirts of Cork City to protest against Apple, and the countless other large multinational corporations who are currently dodging paying huge amounts of corporation tax, both here in Ireland and in many other countries globally. I also went to protest against the many governments who are aiding these rich multinationals in doing so, at the expense of their own citizens and services.

Billions of Euro is sucked from countries around the world annually by corporate tax dodging, constantly widening the gap between rich and poor, with the most vulnerable in our societies suffering the most through cuts in funding to important services like hospitals and schools. Services which are vital in tackling inequality and poverty.

Right now around the globe, we have more people than ever before living in abject poverty, millions homeless, without health care, education or even running water, while governments continue to help wealthy soul-less corporations to line their pockets further through tax loopholes and shady deals, gifting away vital capital that could otherwise be used for housing, education, health services, and infrastructure instead of used to prop up the pillars of corruption that our political systems are currently built upon.

Welcome to the first video in a new series called Guerrilla Gigs, in which I'll be traveling around Ireland to various locations of recent social and political significance to perform songs of protest and solidarity about many local, national and global issues.

In Episode 1 I traveled to a Ghost Housing Estate in Gorey in Co. Wexford to protest against the ongoing housing and homelessness crisis, not just here in Ireland but on an International level too and against the many governments who are allowing it to continue and worsen despite the endless suffering it is inflicting upon people.

Unfinished, abandoned developments such as the one I visited have become common sights in many countries around the world in recent years while homeless figures have hit all time highs. In Ireland alone we now have in excess of 8,000 people living on the streets or in unfit temporary accommodation and the last month alone has seen the death of several of these poor, marginalized human beings. This is completely unacceptable, but sadly, it will continue unless urgent action is taken now.

It is an absolute disgrace that we currently have such huge numbers of homeless people here in Ireland, and across the world, while so many properties are being allowed to lie vacant and fall into disrepair by our shameful governments who have absolutely no empathy for the people they are supposed to protect, yet will happily bend over backwards to accommodate the dodgy developers, crooked bankers, greedy landlords and vulture fund parasites who have inflicted these miseries onto ordinary, decent, people.

This weeks song is taken from my 2014 album 'Life' and is simply a song about staying true to yourself in this increasingly commercialized World that we all now live in. People are constantly trying to please everybody and conform to societies unrealistic expectation of what they should be. Sadly this means that the one person they never make truly happy is themselves.

Hey folks, welcome to my latest weekly update on the website, Tune of the week, where I'll be shining a spotlight on a track from one of my albums or EP's and telling you some of the stories behind the songs. First up is the title track from my latest album entitled 'Revolution'.

I wrote this song after reading an article online about a protest in England on Guy Fawkes night which involved Russell Brand and some members of the Anonymous activist group. The article recounted how the marchers had chanted 'One Solution, Revolution' among other slogans as they marched that evening and it struck me that it would be a great chorus for a song and as I was already writing a lot of protest material at the time, this song came to be.

In the lyrics I'm simply trying to highlight the sheer madness of the world we live in, where we have abject poverty, hardship, starvation, suffering and death, all of which are completely avoidable only for the skewed system we live in, which protects the rich and persecutes the poor. The lyrics are also to say to people that we have the power and the numbers to make a change. We just need to stand together and take action.
